MUNTU® FOUNDATION, INC.

The MUNTU® Foundation, Inc. was originally incorporated in 1977 as a non-profit corporation.  Its purpose was to use a portion of the profits from the sale of MUNTU® merchandise to enable individual young Black men and women to go to trade schools. We are in the process of reactivating this non-profit organization.

It was, and is, Sam Lax’s (the creator of the MUNTU® symbol) way of sponsoring, on an individual basis, young Black men and women who, while they may not have the academic qualifications for a major university, can, if given the opportunity, learn a trade — whether as an automotive mechanic, a draftsman, or any of dozens of other viable trades that would allow these young Black men and women to make an honest living and participate in today’s society and raise their families with dignity.

In conjunction with our Foundation, we are in the formative period of creating another non-profit organization: Children Caring 4 Children, Inc. which will use the acronym “CC4C” as a brand name for their own merchandise to raise funds with which children in the United States can help children in Africa.
