Like the late Dr. King, I too have a dream.

Actually, my dream is composed of several parts:

I’d like to see, realizing that it won’t happen in my lifetime, a planet with one people not divided by colors or beliefs.

I’d like to see us, both individually and collectively, lose our apathy, not just toward each other, but toward our planet.

And I’d like to see, in my lifetime, the MUNTU® symbol act as a catalyst, not just for unity amongst all Blacks, but as a stepping-stone in the creation of a Black distribution network throughout the free world.

The MUNTU® started as a design for a cover of a pamphlet for an open house in the depressing confines of San Quentin State Prison in 1967 (see The Story of a Symbol), then evolved into a piece of jewelry, first marketed through advertisements in Ebony magazine in 1972 to the current design, developed in 1976 and now, being presented again, with the aid of the Internet and some of the same believers in the symbol who helped me in 1977.

Through it all, my dream, all the parts of it, have remained intact. Now I want, more than ever, to have you, the viewer of this, my dreams in writing, share in the promulgation of the MUNTU ® symbol.
